Position Summary

This is a part-time temporary position in the Physical Plant Department. The Coordinator provides overall coordination and supervision as assigned. He/she is responsible for ensuring goals and projects remain on schedule and to support the department.

Required Education and Work Experience

Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Three to five years experience in work directly related to Physical Plant.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

Knowledge of computer systems and software for word processing, spreadsheets, and other similar processes.

Knowledge of general office processes, such as answering telephone, greeting visitors, maintaining inventories, copying, filing, faxing, etc.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of information in the office.

Ability to check, proofread, and verify text, data, and statistics accurately.

Ability to write and edit messages, memos, letters, summaries, and reports.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to complete complex assignments successfully, analyze practical problems, recommend solutions, and implement authorized actions.

Physical ability to work in an office environment, manipulate large volumes of forms and documents, lift and move materials up to 50 pounds in weight, operate computers and other electronic devices, and travel independently between campus locations.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities

Managing office operations including personnel, phone operations, work requests, work orders, building activities, and mail services.

Determines priorities of work and schedules, assigns personnel tasks to accomplish priorities.

Ensures that necessary equipment and supplies are available.

Completes necessary paperwork, verifying invoices, and meeting with staff.

May perform other duties as assigned.
